Farmingdale Middle School Students Make the World a Better Place

Students Showcase Artwork at Community Summit

The Farmingdale School District recently held its annual Community Summit at Farmingdale High School, offering students an opportunity to express messages of empowering others and ways to bring people together. During the event, student-artists from Howitt Middle School showcased their artwork, which was inspired by the Summit’s themes: character, good citizenship and being a positive influence on the world. The students hoped to communicate their thoughts on these themes with the community through creative collages, art, and literary work.

Mrs. Steffen’s 7th grade Howitt Middle School Art students and Ms. Baltch’s 7th grade Howitt Middle School ELA students exhibited artwork and posters centered on themes of peace, tolerance, character, patriotism, kindness, altruism and supporting those in need. During the summit students encouraged community members to pay these messages forward to create a ripple effect of positivity.
