FARMINGDALE, NY — With the 20th anniversary of 9/11 approaching, Farmingdale Remembers is set for its annual ceremony. The ceremony, scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, is set to take place at the Farmingdale Public Library.

The event was originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 9, but the rainy forecast led to a change in date.

"As the 20th anniversary of September 11 approaches, our thoughts are once again with all those who lost loved ones on that tragic morning," the Farmingdale Community Summit Council wrote in a news release. "We remember the names, faces, and lives of the men, women, and children who were killed, and look for ways to ensure that each and every one of them is not forgotten. As
we commemorate, the Farmingdale Community Summit invites you to join us in remembering September 11 and all that this day means."

"The Farmingdale Community Summit Council encourages all residents of the community to participate in the brief ceremony to honor and remember those who perished and those we lost from exposure to health hazards at Ground Zero, to pay tribute to those who served so unselfishly in the recovery operation, and to show our continued support for all those who were affected by the events of 9/11/01," the summit stated.
