Farmingdale Residents to Vote on Proposed $36 Million Bond For Sports Complex, Aquatic Center
The vote will take place on Tuesday.
Farmingdale residents will be able to vote on a proposed $36 million bond to create the first ever community-focused public school sports complex and aquatic center on Long Island this Tuesday.
The vote will take place on Oct. 25 at the Weldon E. Howitt Middle School on 70 Vancott Avenue in Farmingdale between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
The proposed complex, which if approved will be constructed at the middle school, would include both competitive and community pools as well as two synthetic turfs for baseball, softball, football, soccer and lacrosse.

In addition, the complex would also include a competitive track and stadium lighting.
Even if the bond is approved, any district debt service taxes would be reduced by $71 a year for the average Farmingdale homeowner. The debt on the proposed project would not kick in until the 2021-2022 school year.
