Farmingdale School Budget Passes

The Farmingdale school budget was passed, while Michael Goldberg and Suzanne D'Amico were re-elected to the school board.

FARMINGDALE, NY--Farmingdale residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.

The $171,083,800 proposed budget was approved by a margin of 1,127-581. The budget is a 3.24 percent increase from the current year's. It's accompanied by a 2.73 percent bump in the tax levy. That is at the district's tax levy cap, so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.

A proposition funding the Farmingdale Youth Council budget was also approved by a vote of 1,224-466.

Michael Goldberg (1,307), incumbent school board president, and Suzanne D'Amico (1,389), incumbent trustee, ran unopposed and were re-elected. Terms are three years.
