Farmingdale School District was recently named one of the Best Communities for Music Education in 2016 by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation. This is the third consecutive year that the district has been recognized with this honor.

“I am extremely proud of our district for receiving this honor for the third consecutive year. The combined efforts of our teachers have showcased the importance of music education in our schools and we are honored to be recognized,” said Farmingdale School District Superintendent, John Lorentz.

This year more than 2,000 districts applied for this recognition and just 476 were awarded this designation. Selections were made based off of curriculum, program, participation, performance groups and adjudications.
