Farmingdale, NY (March 23, 2022) – The Farmingdale School District presented its Capital and Financial planning presentation for the 2022/23 school year to the community at the Board of Education’s second special meeting/budget workshop/public input on March 23, 2022. During the meeting, Farmingdale School District Assistant to the Superintendent for Business Michael Motisi reviewed the presentation from the March 16, 2022 meeting, then highlighted a detailed explanation of district initiatives, capital work, smart schools bond project, and financial planning for the 2022/23 school year.
Capital work included an update on the progress of the Aquatic Center. Other capital work updates discussed were an overview of the energy performance contract II, and various other facility projects district-wide. An outline of the smart schools bond project was also presented. The investment plan includes the installation of high-tech security, computer networking, WiFi upgrades, and upgrades to classroom learning technology.
The District hosts special meetings throughout March, April, and May to relay important information about the 2022/23 budget and answer the community’s questions. The next Board of Education meeting/Adopt 2022/23 Proposed Budget for Voter Approval will occur on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
