FARMINGDALE, NY — All six schools in the Farmingdale School District went into lockout for nearly an hour on Monday afternoon, a district spokeswoman told Patch.

Nassau police informed the district of "an incident" that happened in South Farmingdale just before 12:20 p.m., the spokeswoman said. Lockout procedures were enacted until just after 1 p.m., when police told the district the lockout could be lifted.

The district was able to continue its regular school day during the lockout, but no one was allowed in or out of the buildings. The district said it will follow its usual dismissal time and after-school activities.
