Farmingdale Students Turn Up the Heat

Woodward Parkway Elementary School Students Use Chemistry to Make Lava Lamps

The Farmingdale School District recently engaged Woodward Parkway Elementary School students in a hands-on project as part of a District initiative to introduce elementary school students to chemistry as part of their science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) curriculum. During the event, students mixed different chemicals to produce a lava lamp-like reaction. During the reaction students observed and recorded the results to practice recording experimental data the same way professional scientists do.
