Farmingdale United keeps on rolling. The newly-crowned Region 1 Premier League champions won an amazing sixth consecutive State Open Cup, and seventh overall, by defeating Alleycats White 95. The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) Girls-Under-17 title game between Farmingdale, a Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) team, and the Capital District Youth Soccer League’s (CDYSL) Alleycats was played on Sunday, June 1 at Stringham Park in LaGrange.
Mackenzie Kober, Adriana Mendrinos, Erin Neville and Taylor Sipos scored for Farmingdale while keeper Lauren Hill had the shutout in goal.
“It was a good final game. We got out to a 2-0 lead 20 minutes into the first half and that helped us relax and possess the ball to retain control of the game,” commented Farmingdale coach Jaime Gonzalez.
Farmingdale received a $2,000 check from Eastern New York to defer the costs of playing in the Regionals from June 26 to July 1 in Kingston, Rhode Island.
