Farmingdale Women Launch Edible Cookie Dough Startup
Dōlightful Dō, which is available across Long Island, features a handful of different flavors of dough.

FARMINGDALE, NY — Two Farmingdale women on Tuesday launched a line of edible cookie dough products. And it will be available all across Long Island, as well as Queens.
Samantha Minarczyk, 20, and Rachel Ruggiero, 25, the team behind Dōlightful Dō, make their cookie dough with heat-treated flour. There are no eggs in it; a standard safety concern when it comes to eating dough.
"We’re super excited," Minarczyk told Patch. "I can’t even put it into words. People are going to love it. It’s going to be a product that people aren’t going to want to stop buying. It’s addicting. I know I can’t stop eating it."

Flavors include Traditional Cookie Dough, Cake Batter, Heavenly Peanut Butter, and Cookies & Cream. Pumpkin Cheesecake will be the inaugural seasonal offering, while Cinnamon Toast Crunch is slated to debut as October's flavor of the month.
Ruggiero, Minarczyk, and Minarczyk's mother, who preferred not to be named, will work from a commercial kitchen in Farmingdale. All dough will be made-to-order.

"I’m really excited for it," Ruggiero said. "It’s something you really can’t get anywhere. People can come to us for cookie dough."

Those who want to place orders can text either 516-473-1984 or 516-474-0138, the merchants said. Dōlightful Dō will also soon have a website. The prices are:
- 2 oz for $1.75 each with a minimum of 12 oz
- 5.5 oz for $4.50 each no minimum
- 8 oz for $6.50 each no minimum
"[The dough] has also been tried and tested by many food bloggers on Long Island," Minarczyksaid. "Just so they can sample and let us know their feedback. We’ve gotten nothing but great reviews."
Both Minarczyk and Ruggiero are working Dōlightful Dō on the side; they're employed full time. However, they're hoping the startup will continue to expand. The women plan to give back to the community through fundraisers, Ruggiero said.
