Farmingdale's Republic Airport Gets $148,000 Federal Grant
The grant will provide economic relief funds for operational costs, says U.S. Congressman Andrew Garbarino.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republic Airport in East Farmingdale is due to receive a $148,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), U.S. Congressman Andrew Garbarino (R—NY) announced Friday.
The grant is set to provide economic relief funds for operational costs, personnel, cleaning, sanitization, janitorial services, debt service payments, and combating the spread of pathogens at the airport, according to the grant notice provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
"Long Island airports like Republic are an integral part of Long Island's infrastructure and I am pleased to see federal dollars being allocated to provide much-needed relief," Garbarino stated. "Federal investment in infrastructure assets is critical to the economic growth of our community which is why I am proud that my recent vote for infrastructure funding means that an additional $3.7 million will soon be available to Republic Airport as part of nearly $1 billion coming to New York to modernize, repair and upgrade our airports."
