"Being part of the Farmingdale community for over 20 years has brought us unending pride and joy," they wrote. "We have poured our hearts and souls into this restaurant and couldn't be more proud of what we accomplished. We have seen so many faces over the years and have had the most amazing and loyal customers a business could ask for. Without you, we wouldn't have made it. We thank you and will never forget you."
Grecian Grill served a variety of sandwiches, gyros, quesadillas, entrees, desserts and more.

While the future of 261 Main Street is up in the air, the family said they chose the next owners of the storefront and are confident they will provide Farmingdale with the "same level of quality food and service" Grecian Grill offered.
The family also honored the restaurant's founders, Maria and Fred. The two met when Fred came to the United States at age 22 and began working at a diner. The two, who always dreamed of owning their own business, opened a coffee shop in the 1980s, a Greek restaurant in the 1990s and Grecian Grill in 2001. They worked seven days a week for their first 12 years in business, sacrificing "so much" to make the business work.
"That is something we will always have the utmost respect for," the family wrote. "We will always cherish the memories we made here at the Grecian Grill."
