ICYMI: Sabra Dipping Company to Shut Down Farmingdale Plant

FARMINGDALE, NY - Sabra Dipping Company recently announced its plans to shut down the Farmingdale plant this year.
The local plant, located on 535 Smith Street, produces the company's Greek Yogurt dip line.

A total of 22 employees will be affected by the closure and have been offered the opportunity to transfer to other Sabra facilities, according to a company spokesperson.
"While these decisions are never easy, for the long-term growth of the Greek Yogurt Dip line, working with a co-manufacturer will enable us to meet the scale and innovation in our pipeline," the spokesperson said.

According to the state Labor Department’s website, most employees will be laid off starting on May 16, but the plant will be not be shut down until June 30.
"Sabra will provide severance, career counseling and job placement support to those who choose not to relocate,” the spokesperson said.
The White Plains-based company makes dips and spreads, including hummus in more than a dozen flavors, salsa, guacamole and the Greek yogurt dip.
