IMPACT Announces New Partnership, More Updates

IMPACT, a leading Farmingdale-based supplier of tools and technology that are used to protect both public and private safety workers,recently confirmed that it has become an associate member with the Applied Science Foundation for Homeland Security, part of the Long Island Forum For Technology (LIFT) in Bethpage.

The companies' new agreement should increase the development of ideas, technology and experience for all to benefit from, and produce valuable homeland security products and solutions.

Cemtex Inc. of Farmingdale announced earlier this month that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is anticipating new regulations for air pollution emissions from electrical generating units.

Cemtrex Inc. is an international leader in the manufacturing and sales of advanced machinery for emission monitoring of particulate, opacity, mercury, sulfur, dioxide, nitrogen oxides and filtration products.

The new regulations are based on the Maximum Achievable Control Technology stipulations of the Clean Air Act. Finalized requirements, that adheres to nearly all boilers that burn oil, coal or biomass, are expected to be released by the end of 2011 and power plants will then have three years to abide by these new rules, according to Cemtrex Inc.

Lightower Finalizes Acquisition of Open Access Inc.

Lightower Fiber Networks, a Massachusetts-based fiber network and bandwidth service provider, recently completed its acquisition of Open Access Inc. Open Access Inc. is a Farmingdale-based provider of various cost-effective communications solutions. 

With its newest addition, Lightower greater extends its network and customer base through the Long Island and New York City area. Lightower strives to provide a dense and advanced fiber network and this acquisition adds to just that.

Farmingdale Company Names Employee of the Year

Purolator International, based out of Jericho with offices in Farmingdale, announced its 2010 Employee of the Year in early April. Elaine Rudman of Oakdale started with the company as an Accounts Payable Supervisor but advanced to take on additional roles in contracts, quality control and collections. 

Rudman has worked with the company for nearly five years, and has been recognized for her ability to juggle several tasks responsibly, solve company problems and focus on customers.
