The Farmingdale School District has launched its Portrait of a Graduate initiative to identify the critical skills necessary for graduates to live quality lives, have successful careers, and compete in a rapidly changing world.
Portrait of a Graduate is a national effort to redefine what education means in an ever-evolving world. It is customized according to each community's hopes and dreams for the coming generations.
When completed later this year, Farmingdale will have its unique Portrait of a Graduate used to strategically align curriculum and support services to ensure that all students possess vital skills needed for success upon graduation. The first part of the process begins with the launch of our first of two conversations with our stakeholders, including community leaders, staff, and parents. Conversation one, which kicks off today, will help us get a pulse on the current beliefs and ideations - simply put, what’s working and what’s not working. Conversation two will allow us to build a cohesive understanding and collective expectations for all of our graduates.
