LI Aviation Museum To Host Pancake Breakfast With Santa Claus

Hangar 3 at the American Airpower Museum will feature Christmas decor, pancakes, photo opportunities with Santa Claus, and more.

FARMINGDALE, NY — The American Airpower Museum (AAM) of Farmingdale is set to host its annual Winter Hangar Pancake Breakfast from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 12, according to a news release.

Hangar 3 will be decked out with Christmas-themed decorations, and there will be photo opportunities with Santa Claus. Parents and children will get to indulge in hot pancakes with butter, maple syrup, sausages and beverages. The AAM Holiday Tram will also take adults and kids for rides around the Hangar’s ramp, weather permitting.

The pancake breakfast will be served from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. only, while Santa Claus will be available until closing time at 4 p.m.

Breakfast is free with the cost of regular admission to the museum and a confirmed reservation. Donations are welcome, according to the museum. The admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and veterans, and $10 for kids.

Breakfast with Santa takes place in AAM’s historic Hangar 3, once part of Republic Aviation. After breakfast, people can discover the history of military aviation and explore dozens of exhibits including five of America’s most famous WWII fighting aircraft: the North American B-25 Mitchell Bomber and P-51 Mustang, the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk (Flying Tiger), Grumman’s TBM Avenger Bomber and the Douglas C-47 Skytrain, plus Cold War-era jets by Republic Aviation like the F-105 Thunderchief and A-10 Thunderbolt, also known as the Warthog, the “Flying Gun” and the Tank Buster.

Advance registration will be required for the breakfast. Interested parents can call to make reservations, which will be first come first served for specific time slots. For reservations, call AAM at 631-293-6398 between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from Wednesday through Sunday.

To make a reservation in person, you can visit AAM at Hangar 3, 1230 New Highway, Farmingdale.

Reservations are not required for people who arrive after 10:30 a.m. just to visit the museum.
