FARMINGDALE, NY — A Farmingdale man, who recently suffered a stroke, is on life support after he fainted exiting his family pool and nearly drowned.
Mike Bekele, 44, has a wife and three children, ages 12, 10 and 6. He suffered the stroke earlier this year, but the incident that caused him to go on life support happened late July. There's an active GoFundMe campaign to assist him and his family with babysitting and general living expenses, given the significant void in their income.
