LIFWC Hosts Founder's Day Celebration

    The Long Island Federation of Women's Clubs, Inc. (LIFWC) under the leadership of its President, Frances Rotondo, held a Champagne Brunch at The Woodlands of Woodbury on Thursday, March 31, 2016 to pay tribute to the founders of the many women's clubs that make up this Federation, which was founded in 1895.

   Nine speakers from various cubs inspired guests with many interesting and fascinating stories about their club founders.  These founders were women of vision, diversity and service whose foresight and commitment is empowering as much today as ever.  They strived to improve the world-at-large by forming public libraries, serving on school boards and fighting for the women's right to vote and labored tirelessly to better their communities by supporting the installation of street lights, garbage collections an
