Man Charged W/ DWI In Suffolk Crash: Police

The man hit a fence and multiple parked vehicles early Friday, police say.

EAST FARMINGDALE, NY — An Oakdale man was charged with DWI in connection with an East Farmingdale crash early Friday, Suffolk police said.

Robert Alvarado, 26, was driving a 2021 Mercedes on Route 109, near Route 110 in East Farmingdale, when he drove across a grass median and struck a fence and multiple parked, unoccupied vehicles at 2:25 a.m., police said.

Alvarado was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

The passenger in the Mercedes, 50, was brought to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
