Police ID Man Killed In South Farmingdale Hit-And-Run
Officers found a man in the road who suffered head trauma after he was run over by a pickup truck that kept going, police say.
FARMINGDALE, NY — A man was killed in a South Farmingdale hit-and-run crash early Sunday, Nassau police homicide detectives said.
Police identified him as Mohamed Elromi, 24, of Astoria, on Tuesday.
Officers were called to 116 Merritts Road at 3:40 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck, police said. They found Elromi lying in the roadway with severe head trauma, police said.

A short-bed silver /gray pickup truck struck Elromi and left before officers arrived, police said. Elromi was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Detectives are searching for the driver.
