Man Found With Drugs, Fireworks In Car During Traffic Stop: Cops
The 33-year-old was pulled over in Bethpage for speeding when officers discovered marijuana and narcotics in his car, police say.

BETHPAGE, NY - An East Meadow man was arrested officers found drugs and fireworks in his car during a traffic stop in Bethpage Tuesday night, according to Nassau Police.
At about 10:10 p.m., officers on patrol saw 33-year-old Ronald Arena, driving a 2013 Nissan eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike, police said.
He was driving over the speed limit so the officers conducted a traffic stop near the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway, police said.

As the officers approached the car, they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside, police said.
An investigation revealed Arena was in possession of cannabis as well as 6 clear bags of marijuana and 12 white pills believed to be buprenorphine and naloxone, police said.

In addition, the officers found multiple boxes inside the car that contained various fireworks and explosives, police said.
Arena was placed into police custody without incident.
The Arson Bomb Squad unit responded and safely secured the explosives.
Arena is charged with three counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of marijuana, New York State Labor Law 453, Storage and Explosives, and a vehicle and traffic law violation.
