For several years now, a Lemon Auction Fundraiser has been held at the conclusion of the March meeting. It was the inspiration of club member Bea Ferrari. Bea, a retired FSD Social Studies teacher, was on the Farmingdale School District Band Bus Trip that met with a tragic accident. We miss her every day. Lynda Leone stepped up to honor Bea and keep her beloved lemon auction going. Lynda put up beautiful photos of “bees” and “lemons” in Bea’s memory. The auction raised $322 to be added to other monies for a scholarship award in June to a deserving FHS senior in Bea’s memory.
On March 11, Island Metro District Director, Vicky Impollonia, together with the Women's Club of Farmingdale (WCF), hosted the annual GFWC Cultural Arts Day at Domenico's Restaurant in Levittown. As her term as Director ends, Vicky was presented with flowers from her club president and a gift from the GFWC. Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch while artwork and crafts, submitted by district students and clubwomen, was judged. Earlier, Dolores Cianciabella, GFWC Chairperson/Creative Writing, also judged the poems and short stories submitted. St. Patrick's Day table centerpieces were handmade courtesy of Barbara Hoerner.

Once again, Women's Club members and friends from St. Kilian's Church and Choir brought some "Irish good luck charm" to the residents of the Farmingdale Adult Day Care Center. They performed all the traditional St. Patty's Day songs, along with many old time favorites. In addition, the center was beautifully decorated in green with hats and favors for all. Delicious homemade desserts were enjoyed by everyone.
