Nestle USA Will Close Farmingdale Location

FARMINGDALE, NY —Nestle USA, Inc. (and Nestle Dreyer's Ice Cream Company) is expected to close its Farmingdale location at 565 Broadhollow Road by the end of the year, per the New York State Department of Labor.

The plant is closing on Dec. 31, and 39 employees are expected to lose their jobs by then. The first round of layoffs is expected on Oct. 18. The employees were notified Aug. 16. They are not represented by a union.

The listed reason for the closing is "Shifting from direct-store delivery (DSD) to a warehouse distribution model for its frozen pizza and ice cream businesses."
