Patch AM Rewind: Unique Roller Coaster Makes US Debut On Long Island
The fireball ride takes first passengers this weekend at Adventureland

FARMINGDALE, NY — Adventureland on Route 110 in Farmingdale has a new ride ready to take passengers this weekend. The rollerball coaster, Fireball, is the first such ride in this country.
It is a roller coaster "that is very compact," manager Jeanine Gentile, a guest on "Patch AM," said.
"It's a little ball-like car that goes around the track," she said. "It's awesome."

While the cars don't completely go upside-down, they will sway side to side adding to the excitement.
"When you look at it from the ground, it's OK. It's a ride," Gentile said. "When you get on it, it really is a ride you can not knock until you try it. Looks are deceiving totally comes into play."

Not a typical roller coaster as it only reaches speeds of 15 miles per hour, "but the thrills and the turns that is does have to offer is unlike any roller coaster I've ever been on," she said.
The fireball is opening this weekend for a soft launch, before the official grand opening in June.
