Pedestrian Killed In Farmingdale Crash: Police

His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police say.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A pedestrian was killed in a Farmingdale crash Saturday night, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place on Route 110 at the intersection of Conklin Street, at about 11:10 p.m.

A male pedestrian was crossing Route 110 when he was struck by a southbound 2001 GMC Savana, police said.

The pedestrian, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

The driver of the GMC, John Hader, 57, of Lindenhurst, was not injured, police said. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and no charges were filed in the crash, police said.
