Person Rescued From Wrecked Car On Southern State Parkway

A person who was trapped inside a wrecked car was rescued on Monday afternoon by the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company.

EAST FARMINGDALE, NY–A person was rescued from a wrecked car on Monday.

Around 2 p.m., the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company responded to a car accident on the westbound side of the Southern State Parkway, just east of Wellwood Avenue. They found a person in the wreckage in the wooded area.

Heavy Rescue 1-5-4 used HURST tools to take off the roof, doors and displace the dashboard. The patient was then transported to a local hospital by Ambulance 1-5-8. Chief of Department Joe Iuzzini commanded all units at the scene.
