Person Trapped In Car Following 3-Car Collision

Three people were taken to a nearby hospital.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A person was trapped in a car after a three-car collision on the Southern State Parkway, just east of Wellwood Avenue, on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company sent Heavy Rescue 1-5-4 to pop open the door around 4:30 p.m. Two people were in the jammed car, though one was able to get out on their own, the department told Patch.

Three people, including the drivers of the other two cars, were taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. The fourth person declined medical attention.
