In a powerful nod to Women’s History Month, the Women’s Club of Farmingdale delivered 18 shopping bags of professional attire to Dress for Success, a global nonprofit dedicated to helping women break the cycle of poverty.

Founded in 1977 by Nancy Lublin in Harlem, Dress For Success offers a holistic approach to career development that includes Professional Styling, Skill Building, and Networking opportunities to help women sustain long-term employment.

When The Women’s Club of Farmingdale visited Dress For Success on March 9th they were introduced to Sharon Boyd, Executive Director. Club members were welcomed into their Boutique, which is run by volunteers, to show how they display donated clothing, jewelry, handbags and shoes. A stylist helps the women select their outfits.

By partnering with this global network, the Women’s Club of Farmingdale is ensuring that local women have the confidence and tools necessary to walk into any boardroom or office and claim their seat at the table.
