Police: Loaded Weapons, Drugs Discovered Inside Woman's Car in Farmingdale

Handguns were found inside a hidden compartment Tuesday morning, police said.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested after authorities discovered several weapons inside her vehicle during a motor vehicle stop in Farmingdale Tuesday, police said.

According to authorities, officers pulled over a red Honda that was speeding eastbound on South Front Street around 12:05 a.m. and noticed a strong smell of marijuana that was coming from inside the vehicle.

Yulisa R. Almonte, of Copiague, was placed under arrest without incident after authorities say they found a suboxone sublingual film packet on top of the center console.

Authorities said several weapons were then recovered from inside the vehicle:

  • A loaded 40 caliber glock handgun inside a center console.
  • A loaded H&R nine shot revolver inside a hidden compartment.
  • A .22 caliber handgun inside a hidden compartment.

A pill believed to be Oxycodone and more suboxone were also recovered from the vehicle, police said.

Almonte was charged with three counts of second degree criminal possession of a weapon, third degree criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
