Police: Man Tried to Steal Donation Boxes From Farmingdale Mosque
Police make arrest in incident that occurred in January.

A 21-year-old North Massapequa man is accused of breaking into a Farmingdale mosque and trying to steal donation boxes.
Police announced the arrest of Imel Castillo, of 207 North Beech Street, on Wednesday.
According to police, Castillo entered the the Masjid Bilal Mosque, located at 425 Fulton Street, through an unlocked rear window and attempted to remove two donation boxes mounted into a wall at 4:30 a.m. on January 10. Castillo fled the scene with no proceeds, police said.

Castillo is charged with third degree burglary and was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
