Police Seek Men Who Sold Stolen Car in Westbury

Authorities are looking for two men who sold a stolen vehicle to a 33-year-old man in Westbury on Wednesday, July 8.

According to police, the victim responded to an advertisement on Craigslist regarding the sale of a 2012 Honda Civic at 6:30 p.m.

The two men who claimed to be the owners met the victim at his house and sold the vehicle for $8,000.

The victim discovered he purchased a stolen vehicle when he attempted to register the vehicle at the Department of Motor Vehicles at a later date, police said.

The victim recorded the transaction in a video that shows the two suspects conducting the illegal sale.
