King Defeats Grechen Shirley in 2nd District Congressional Race

Republican Rep. Peter King has been elected to his 14th term on Congress, fending off upstart Democratic challenger Liuba Grechen Shirley in the 2nd Congressional District race.

With almost all precincts reporting in both counties, King leads Grechen Shirley by a margin of 119,479 to 102,463.

Republicans also held onto the 1st Congressional District seat in Suffolk County where Rep. Lee Zeldin was re-elected.
