South Farmingdale Home Fully Engulfed By Flames

Several fire departments were called to put out the house.

SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY — A South Farmingdale home was "fully engulfed in flames" on Saturday afternoon, Nassau police said. Officers received a call for the Grant Street fire at 1:25 p.m.

All residents got out of the home safely before police arrived, though one man suffered burns to his hand, police said. He was treated at the scene.

The South Farmingdale Fire Department responded and was assisted by several other fire departments including those from Farmingdale, East Farmingdale, Village of Farmingdale, Bethpage, Seaford, Levittown, Massapequa, Hicksville, Plainview and Westbury. Roughly 80 firefighters battled the blaze, according to police. No firefighters were injured.

No criminality is suspected, according to Arson/Bomb Squad detectives and Fire Marshalls. The investigation is ongoing, however.
