United Water proudly sponsors 5K Run & Dog Walk in partnership with Nassau County
5K Run & Dog Walk to assist America's VetDogs in placing service dogs with disabled veterans

United Water is proud to play a prime sponsorship role in supporting the upcoming 5K Run and Dog Walk on Saturday, August 22nd at 7:15 a.m. at the Museum of American Armor at Old Bethpage Village Restoration in partnership with Nassau County on behalf of America’s VetDogs® (www.VetDogs.org), a Long Island based not-for-profit that provides specially trained guide and service dogs to disabled veterans.
“Nassau County is honored to host America’s VetDogs First Annual Long Island Run and Dog Walk at Old Bethpage Village Restoration and the Museum of American Armor,” said Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano. “America’s VetDogs proudly serve our nation’s heroes and it is an honor to partner with them as they continue the mission of aiding disabled veterans from all eras who have honorably served our country.”

“We’re proud to serve not only the newest generation of veterans, but those who have answered the call to serve our nation during any time in the past,” says Wells Jones, CEO of America’s VetDogs. “All our services are provided at no cost to veterans; to fund our mission, we rely on the generous contributions of individuals, corporations, businesses, and special events like this.”

Walking the dog for our vets
Participants can take part in an officially measured 5K or a 2-mile walk at Old Bethpage Village Restoration, 1303 Round Swamp Road, Old Bethpage, a landmark destination for tens of thousands of people who enjoy Nassau County parks. Participants of the dog walk must have their dogs leashed. From now until August 20th, registration for students, veterans, and active duty service members is $25, and civilian registration is $30.

Walk-up registration the day of the event is $35. All registrants will receive a free event t-shirt. Bagels, fruit, and water will also be provided for participants.
Participants will have an opportunity to see some of the vintage operational armor that is featured at the Museum of American Armor that is located within Old Bethpage Village Restoration and serve to remind visitors of the courage and valor of our American military through the ages. The museum is also supported by United Water.
Virtual Participation
Virtual participation is available for those unable to attend. By “virtually participating,” supporters can register for $25, fundraise in their own community, and take on a 5K or dog walk in their hometown. A VetDogs t-shirt will be provided. The Virtual Participation option is available in the registration area at LIrace4vets.VetDogs.org.
