WCF ANNOUNCES FARMINGDALE HIGH SCHOOL CULTURAL ARTS WINNERS
The Annual Island Metro District (IMD) Cultural Arts Day, sponsored by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs-New York State (GFWC-NYS), took place on Monday, March 12. Farmingdale High School (FHS) students and members of local women’s clubs submitted their creative art and craft pieces for competition. The Women’s Club of Farmingdale (WCF) Scholastic Awards Committee, including Ann Ciuffo, Pauline Bove, Anna Ievolo and Rosemary Emigholz, collected the the entries from the high school and displayed them at a luncheon at Dimenico’s Restaurant where judges awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd and honorable mention certificates to the student and clubwomen winners. Additionally, first place student winners received a monetary award from the GFWC-NYS Island Metro District.
FHS art and craft students were represented in many categories including watercolor, acrylic, pen & Ink, charcoal, digital illustration, photography, crafts, ceramics and sculpture. While several local school districts participated in this event, FHS art and craft students were very successful capturing many awards.

The following student winners were sponsored by the Women’s Club of Farmingdale (WCF) which continued its time honored tradition of matching the Island Metro District’s monetary award for 1st place student winners that it sponsors: Art: 1st Place Bernard Raifer; 2nd Place Jessica Mannhaupt and Esther Sherry; 3rd Place Kimberly Chabza; Honorable Mention Laura Dentato. Crafts: 1st Place Sophia Smith; 2nd Place Wajina Nowaz.

In addition, the following FHS student winners were sponsored by the Junior League of the Women’s Club of Farmingdale: Crafts: 1st Place Kyle Berotti and Jodie Lin; 2nd Place Mianna Welsch; 3rd Place Amber Rose Faber.
The Women’s Club of Farmingdale was proud to announce the following clubwomen winners: Art: 1st Place JoAnn Krapp; 2nd Place Maria Ortolani; 3rd Place Frances Rotondo; Crafts: 3rd Place Pauline Bove; Creative Writing: 1st Place Dolores Cianciabella.
