• Police Probing Hateful Images Found On Fire Island: Report (patch.com) — Residents of Fire Island's Village of Ocean Beach are reacting after chalk swastikas and other hateful symbols were discovered on a public sidewalk, prompting a police investigation. Village officials and the mayor condemned the imagery as contrary to the community's values of respect and inclusion, and urged anyone who sees similar markings on Fire Island to contact law enforcement immediately.
