• Suffolk Officials To Spray Davis Park On Fire Island For Mosquitoes For The 5th Time This Summer Season (patch.com) — Mosquito control crews are scheduled to spray all streets and boardwalks in Davis Park on Fire Island this Thursday evening, using an ultra-low-volume pesticide between 5:30 and 9 p.m. Officials say health risks are low but urge residents to stay indoors during spraying, close windows and AC vents, cover outdoor items and pets' areas, and rinse any exposed produce or laundry afterward.
