Search For Missing Person On Fire Island: Report
Park officials said they were reported missing after being seen going into the water, and then not returning to shore, News 12 reported.
FIRE ISLAND, NY — Authorities were searching for a missing person Saturday at Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island, News 12 reported.
State parks officials told the outlet the person was reported missing at around 2:15 p.m. after being seen venturing into the ocean, but did not return to shore.
Officials said swimming is barred at the location, and they are advising residents to exercise caution during the storm, the outlet reported.

The news comes as a nor'easter slammed into the region.

States of emergency have been put into place at the state, Suffolk County, and town levels.
