• County's largest school district preps for new year (midhudsonnews.com) — Families in Fishkill and nearby towns can expect increased school safety measures, mental health support, and new college-credit opportunities as Wappingers Central School District prepares for classes starting September 8. Local tax-funded capital projects will upgrade buildings, athletic facilities, and accessibility, while DCC Fishkill will host a new PTECH cohort for Ketcham High School students.
• Laurence Mulvehill (1935-2024) (highlandscurrent.org) — A noted photojournalist and Air Force veteran, Laurence J. Mulvehill is remembered by family including a daughter living in Fishkill. His long career spanned major newspapers, historic assignments, and award-winning work, and he will be laid to rest at Cold Spring Cemetery during a graveside service on September 19, 2026.
