100th Day of School
Lawrence Middle School Celebrates 100 Days in School with Vibrant Mathematical Mosaic
LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (FEBRUARY 2024)—Lawrence Middle School proudly celebrated 100 days of school in the current academic year. To mark the occasion, middle school math teachers organized a unique project that saw students come together to create a vibrant mosaic using index cards. Each index card featured an equation or word problem that equals 100, showcasing the many ways in which the number can be broken down and reimagined.
“We wanted to create an interactive and visually engaging project that would not only celebrate the 100th day of school but also demonstrate the beauty and complexity of mathematics,” said Willis Perry, Principal of Lawrence Middle School. “The collaborative effort of the math teachers and students has resulted in a stunning display of mathematical creativity.”
The celebration not only marks a significant milestone in the school year but also highlights the importance of mathematics. Through this project, Lawrence Middle School aims to foster a love for math and encourage students to think creatively and critically about numbers.
