2 Injured In Dog Attack In Nassau

Police said two dogs attacked a woman, biting her on the legs and arms. A man was also bit when he tried to stop the attack.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — Two people were injured when they were attacked by a pair of dogs in Valley Stream on Sunday evening, Nassau police said.

According to police, a 52-year-old woman was attacked by two pit bulls at a home on Hungry Harbor Road just before 5:30 p.m. When officers arrived, the woman was bleeding heavily and had cuts to her face, as well as bites on her arms and legs. A 52-year-old man also had bites on his right hand and foot from trying to stop the dogs from attacking the woman.

The dogs were contained by the police officers and taken by animal control. The two victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their wounds.
