2 Men Charged After Shots Fired Into Nassau Home: Cops

The men, who were found in a nearby smoke shop with a concealed handgun, face several charges, police said.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — Two men were charged in connection with concealing a handgun after shots were fired into a Valley Stream home.

Officers responded to a 911 call on Sunday afternoon for shots, police said.

They found shell casings on the ground and received descriptions of the men in question, authorities said.

An investigation led police to the Smoke Shop on Ocean Avenue, where they were found concealing the weapon, police said.

Scange Volant, 31, of New Cassel, Imani Rochester, 32, of Roosevelt were arrested without incident, police said.

A Springfield XD .40 caliber handgun was recovered inside a black backpack inside the Smoke Shop.

There are each charged with criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of first-degree reckless endangerment.

Volant also faces a count of first-degree attempted assault and Rochester is charged with tampering with physical evidence.

They were expected to be arraigned on Monday.
