2 Men Charged In Connection To Mall Shooting: Nassau Police

Breaking: Jaheim White and Javon Badal, accused of gunfire at Green Acres Mall on Aug. 21, face charges of attempted murder, police say.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — Police have taken two people into custody for a shooting at the Green Acres Mall in August.

Several shots were fired into the Macy's store entrance on Aug. 21. No one was injured, detectives said.

An investigation led to Jaheim White, 20, being charged for the crime on Sept. 7, police said.

Javon Badal, 20, was located and taken into custody on Sept. 30, detectives said.

Both men are from Queens.

They each face three counts of second-degree attempted murder, reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm.

White and Badal were expected to be arraigned on Friday in Hempstead.
