3 Charged After Police Find 2 Stolen Cars: NCPD
A Jeep Grand Cherokee and Honda Accord were the two cars that were stolen: police.
ELMONT, NY — Three were arrested and charged after two stolen cars were found Friday morning, police said.
Officers were on their usual patrol when a license plate reader notified them of a stolen car, police said. The officers stopped a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Elmont Road, where they confirmed it was stolen, police said. Its driver, Thomas Allen Lauri, 20, of Mineola, was arrested without incident, police said.
Officers then found a 2010 Honda Accord in Mineola that was stolen in connection with the Jeep, police said. The Honda's driver, Justin Lord-Signore, 17, of Mineola, and its passenger, Jorge Santizo-Lanuza, 20, of Cedarhurst, were arrested, police said.

The incidents were reported around 12:25 a.m.
Allen, Santizio-Lanuza and Lord-Signore were each charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle. Allen was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. The trio was scheduled to be arraigned Friday, Aug. 16 at First District Court, Hempstead.
