CEDARHURST, NY — Police say a man robbed a deli in Cedarhurst and fled on Tuesday. The unknown man broke into Tamburino's Deli on Central Avenue by prying open the cellar door in the rear of the building, according to authorities.

It happened at 5 p.m. when the man stole approximately $1,500 before leaving on foot, police say.

The investigation is ongoing.
