WOODMERE, NY — A Cedarhurst man is facing manslaughter and negligent homicide charges Thursday after being arrested for his role in the car crash that killed 39-year-old Valley Stream resident Michael Kreindler, police said.
Nassau County police announced the arrest of 24-year-old Brayan Romero Flores Thursday, saying Flores would be charged with one count of second-degree manslaughter, one count of criminally negligent homicide, one count of second-degree assault and a count of reckless driving.
According to police, Flores’ Honda Accord struck Kreindler's Tesla on the morning of March 19 when the Tesla was making a left turn from University Street onto Branch Boulevard. In the aftermath of the crash, both men were hospitalized, with Kreindler in critical condition, police said. Kreindler would later die from his injuries, police said.
Court documents show Flores was arraigned Thursday and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
