Loaded Gun Found In Brooklyn Men’s Car During Traffic Stop, Duo Arrested: PD

INWOOD, NY — Two Brooklyn men are facing weapons charges in Nassau County Wednesday after a loaded gun was found in their car during a traffic stop, police said.

Nassau County police said 41-year-old Boubacar Sy and 42-year-old Darnell Williams were both arrested at about 1:03 a.m. Wednesday after police spotted a defective license plate lamp on the 2014 Toyota Camry that Sy was driving along the southbound side of the Nassau Expressway with Williams riding shotgun.

According to police, the officers pulled the Camry over and found a loaded silver and black SCCY CPX-2 9 mm pistol in it. Sy and Williams were both arrested; Sy is now charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and traffic violations while Williams is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, police said.
