Belmont Park Racetrack Is Reopening In September, Here’s How You Can Get Tickets

BELMONT, NY — After three long years of construction, the New York Racing Association (NYRA) announced its full slate of ticketing options for the new and improved Belmont Park racetrack Tuesday.

According to Racing Association officials, the track will reopen Friday, Sept. 18 with a day of races leading up to the Jockey Club Gold Cup, a million-dollar event that gives the winning horse a berth in the Breeders' Cup Classic.

According to racing officials, general admission tickets to the event will go on sale on NewBelmont.com on Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. Admission will cost $50, with food and drink options and a commemorative program included.

There will also be races Saturday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 20, with general admission for those days at the track costing $10 with a program included, officials said. Starting Thursday, Sept. 24, there will be general admission tickets available for $7 in advance and $10 day-of.

While the track is reopening, officials said Belmont Park isn't entirely out of the woodwork yet: The racetrack will be operating at a 6,000-person capacity for that opening weekend, cutting capacity to 4,000 people starting on Sept. 24. As construction continues, officials said, the track's capacity will increase.

For fans looking to get into the races at a larger volume, there are Fall Meet Passes available for $185 that get pass holders in the door for 45 race days, or Fall Weekender Passes available for $99 that give pass holders admission to 24 weekend days — every Saturday and Sunday from Sept. 19 to Dec. 6, officials said — and finally, there are $20 Superfecta Flex Passes, which carry admission to four race days. "Whether seeking an affordable day at the races, a flexible option for multiple visits or a premium experience, we've created a variety of admission and seating choices at different price points to fit the needs of our fans," NYRA VP of Sales and Hospitality Kevin Quinn said. For fans who can't make it out to the track Sept. 18, officials said FOX will broadcast the Jockey Club Gold Cup as part of a Belmont Park: Return to Racing series, running from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
