VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Valley Stream man is facing a DWI charge this week after police said he was found driving drunk with a three-year-old girl in the car with him.
Nassau County police said 28-year-old Elmer Martinez-Serrano was driving his Honda CRV through Valley Stream on Sunrise Highway when the car started veering in and out of its lane. Police said they made a traffic stop on the CRV and found that Martinez was intoxicated.
Found in the car with Martinez-Serrano was a three-year-old girl, who was released to a family member, police said. Police said no injuries were reported at the scene, and said Martinez-Serrano is being charged with DWI, aggravated DWI with a child under 16, endangering the welfare of a child and multiple traffic violations.
