Armed Men Break Into House, Attack Homeowner During Burglary
Police say the burglars were looking for things to steal, but instead got into a fight with the homeowner.

A group of armed men broke into a home in North Valley Stream early Wednesday morning and started a fight with the residents, injuring one before fleeing with stolen goods.
According to police, an unknown number of men forced open the side door of a home on S. Street at 2:08 a.m. and confronted three men — ages 25, 31 and 61 — on the second floor. The burglars demanded personal property from them, and a struggle ensued. Police say the 61-year-old man was shot.
The burglars fled the scene in an unknown direction with assorted jewelry. The injured man was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and is in stable condition.
